Gymnastics Australia and Oceania Gymnastics in partnership with Gymnastics Federation of Fiji facilitated the ‘Building Leadership Capacity of Women in Sport in Fiji’ Workshop Series funded by the Australian Government Pacific Sports Partnerships.

Kaiviti Silktails Football Manager Jacquelin Shannon was privileged to have been invited to deliver a Key Note Speech to the 15 participants at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Office in Lautoka on the 4th of June. She shared with the aspiring participants her journey through to her current leadership role including her success both in her profession and the sporting arena. These compromised of the significant people who have mentored her along the way, the challenges and obstacles she has had to endure and overcome being a Woman in a ‘Man’s world’ which inspired and encouraged the ladies as they look to embark on a similar journey.

We would like to acknowledge the stakeholders involved with sincere gratitude for organizing a much needed event in the Western division of Fiji, and a timely one as many sporting organizations are preparing to return to sports domestically and on the international platform.
